WATER SECTION
Think BLUE - The water in the clouds overhead and the ponds and streams at our feed. The color of a mountain creed spilling into a woodland pool. Of rain drops moistening the land. Of saltwater marshes. Of cloudless blue skies, Of forest lakes and bogs. Water nourishes and refreshes us and all living things.
ANIMALS SECTION
Think RED - Animals are the Life-Blood of our wetlands. Think beaver, ducks, deer, and snakes. Frogs, Fish, herons, and water bugs. See the plumage of the red-winged blackbird, the cardinal, and the wood-duck. our animals, the living, breathing heartbeat of all nature.
MANKIND SECTION
Think SILVER - A healthy economy needs healthy wetlands. More than the color of the coins in our pocket, silver represents the wealth of our future generationsthat we see in the gleaming eyes of our children. Agriculture, fisheries, timber, recreation , tourism, sustainable development. All depend on keeping our watersheds healthy.
PLANTS SECTION
Think GREEN - Growing things. Trees, grasses, cat-tails, and water lilies. Mosses, ferns, shrubs, and duckweed. Plants that we eat, and plants that we wear, and plants that we build with, and plants that protect our wildlife. Green plants sustain the oxygen we breathe and clean waters we drink. They control erosion and renew the soil.
YOU SECTION
Think SUNSHINE YELLOW - Enjoying our great outdoors. The sunrises and sunsets that frame our days. Happiness, health and warmth. Campfires on the beach at seaside. The excitement of kids catching glowing fireflies. You (and I) are the caretakers of our wetland and watershed heritage. We are the ones who enjoy the gifts they give us.
