SOILS SECTION
Think BROWN - Our Rich Soils. The color of a muddy riverbank. Of a bottomland farm field. Do you Like to get Muddy Buddy?! The ultimate source of our foods. Soils need a constant supply of water to give them life.

WATER SECTION
Think BLUE - The water in the clouds overhead and the ponds and streams at our feet. Remember as in the Hydrologic Cycle - "What Goes Around, Comes Around!" The color of a mountain creek spilling into a woodland pool. Of rain drops moistening the land. Of saltwater marshes. Of cloudless blue skies, Of forest lakes and bogs. Water nourishes and refreshes us and all living things.

ANIMALS SECTION
Think RED - Animals are the Life-Blood of our natural world and their health often determines whether our Planet is well or sick for us!. Think, herons, racoons, and snakes. Frogs, salamanders, fish, kingfishers, and water bugs. See the plumage of the red-winged blackbird, the cardinal, and the wood-duck. our animals, the living, breathing heartbeat of all nature.

MANKIND SECTION
Think SILVER - A healthy economy needs healthy wetlands. More than the color of the coins in our pocket, silver (not black or white) represents the wealth and balance of our children that we see in the gleaming eyes of our children. Agriculture, fisheries, timber, recreation , tourism, sustainable development. All depend on keeping our watersheds healthy.

PLANTS SECTION
Think GREEN - Unusual wetland plants are found in wetlands - we call these hydrophytes!. Trees, rushes, sedges, grasses, cat-tails, and water lilies. Mosses, ferns, shrubs, and duckweed. Plants that we eat, and plants that we wear, and plants that we build with, and plants that protect our wildlife. Green plants sustain the oxygen we breathe and clean waters we drink. They control erosion and renew the soil.

YOU SECTION
Think YELLOW - You are the sunshine to Swampy today! Radiate love and joy and knowledge! Happiness, health and warmth. The glow in campfires on the beach at seaside. The excitement of kids catching glowing fireflies! You (and I) are the caretakers of our wetland and watershed heritage. We are the ones who enjoy the gifts they give us.
